| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Mario A. Pasin, who passed away on |
| 4 | | August 18, 2025 at the age of 95; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mario Pasin was born in Oak Park on February 6, |
| 6 | | 1930 to Antonio and Anna Pasin, Italian immigrants who |
| 7 | | instilled the values of hard work and integrity in their |
| 8 | | family; he attended St. Giles School and Fenwick High School |
| 9 | | before enrolling at the University of Notre Dame, where he |
| 10 | | received both his undergraduate and law degrees; he married |
| 11 | | Mary Kay in 1959; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Mario Pasin's father, Antonio, was a skilled wood |
| 13 | | craftsman who founded the family business, Radio Flyer, makers |
| 14 | | of the iconic little red wagon of the same name, which was |
| 15 | | inspired by two great inventions of the early 20th century, |
| 16 | | the radio and the airplane; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Mario Pasin dedicated himself to leading Radio |
| 18 | | Flyer from the 1960s through the 1990s, carrying forward the |
| 19 | | company's mission of creativity, quality, and care; under his |
| 20 | | leadership, the company thrived, and in turn, he earned deep |
| 21 | | respect for treating all employees with fairness, dignity, and |
| 22 | | equality in the workplace; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Mario Pasin, in addition to his professional |
| 2 | | life, restored and preserved his family's dairy farm in |
| 3 | | Wisconsin, planting thousands of trees, rehabilitating the |
| 4 | | lake, and creating a lasting natural sanctuary that reflected |
| 5 | | his love of the outdoors; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Mario Pasin was known as a man of integrity, |
| 7 | | humility, compassion, and generosity, qualities that inspired |
| 8 | | his family and community alike to continue his legacy of |
| 9 | | kindness and stewardship; and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Mario Pasin was preceded in death by his parents |
| 11 | | and his sister; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Mario Pasin is survived by his wife of 66 years, |
| 13 | | Mary Kay; his children, Mark (Mary Margaret), Therese (David) |
| 14 | | Brandenstein, Antonio, Paul (Jane), and Robert (Muriel Quinn); |
| 15 | | his grandchildren, Paul (Jenny), Mary (Kassi), and Miles |
| 16 | | Brandenstein, Helen, Henry, Oscar, and Linus Quinn Pasin, and |
| 17 | | Augustine (Moe) and Joy Pasin; and his great-grandchild, June; |
| 18 | | therefore, be it |
| 19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 20 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 21 | | Mario A. Pasin and extend our sincere condolences to his |
