HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It is important to preserve agricultural history and honor the individuals who have dedicated their lives to maintaining the legacy of farming and farm machinery; and

WHEREAS, Antique tractors represent a vital chapter in our nation's agricultural development and serve as symbols of innovation, resilience, and community heritage; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Bresnahan, a proud Illinoisan and passionate antique tractor enthusiast, has personally preserved and maintained a collection of 31 antique tractors, ensuring that future generations understand and appreciate the machinery that once powered Illinois' farms; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Bresnahan's dedication exemplifies the spirit of preservation and education and reflects a broader community of collectors and restorers who keep this history alive; and

WHEREAS, August 22nd marks a national effort to preserve antique tractors, bringing together enthusiasts, historians, and families to reflect on the rich traditions of American farming; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we declare August 22, 2026 as Antique Tractor Preservation Day in the State of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we encourage educational institutions, historical societies, and community groups across the State to participate in events and activities that honor the legacy of antique tractors and those who preserve them; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Kevin Bresnahan in recognition of his unwavering commitment to antique tractor preservation and agricultural heritage in Illinois.
