| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Patrick Statter on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement from the Northeastern Federation of | ||||||
| 5 | Labor; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Patrick Statter joined the United Retail Workers | ||||||
| 7 | Union in 1979 and has dedicated the last 45 years to | ||||||
| 8 | representing working people, including 40 years on the Central | ||||||
| 9 | Labor Council, serving as a steward for his local union, and | ||||||
| 10 | working in several business and leadership roles within the | ||||||
| 11 | United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW); and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Patrick Statter, since being tasked by Local 881 | ||||||
| 13 | UFCW President Ron Powell to assume the role of president of | ||||||
| 14 | the Northeastern Federation of Labor, has served with | ||||||
| 15 | distinction for 18 years and found a unique purpose in | ||||||
| 16 | bringing the federation into a new era for organized labor in | ||||||
| 17 | Illinois; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Under Patrick Statter's leadership, the activity | ||||||
| 19 | and influence of the Northeastern Federation of Labor grew | ||||||
| 20 | exponentially, and the NEFL now enjoys a reputation as a | ||||||
| 21 | regional leader in advancing justice and opportunity for all | ||||||
| 22 | Illinoisans; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Patrick Statter, whether representing members in | ||||||
| 2 | the field or managing staff in the office, has shown an | ||||||
| 3 | impeccable commitment to honesty and fairness, and his | ||||||
| 4 | tireless work ethic knows no boundaries, which is evidenced by | ||||||
| 5 | his rallying workers for better benefits, dedicating nights | ||||||
| 6 | and weekends to charitable causes, and responding at a | ||||||
| 7 | moment's notice to help a colleague in need; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Patrick Statter is a lifelong resident of McHenry | ||||||
| 9 | County; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 11 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 12 | we congratulate Patrick Statter on his retirement from the | ||||||
| 13 | Northeastern Federation of Labor, and we wish him all the best | ||||||
| 14 | in his future endeavors; and be it further | ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 16 | presented to Patrick Statter as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 17 | esteem. | ||||||
