| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Aaron LaShawn Pittman-Teague, who |
| 4 | | passed away on January 6, 2025; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague was born to Josephine L. |
| 6 | | Teague and Aaron L. Pittman in Kankakee on October 23, 1995; he |
| 7 | | was raised in the Bourbonnais area; he completed his |
| 8 | | elementary and high school education in Kankakee and |
| 9 | | Marseilles, where he excelled in sports, particularly |
| 10 | | wrestling and football; he graduated from Ottawa Township High |
| 11 | | School and pursued higher education at Illinois Valley |
| 12 | | Community College; he later returned to Bourbonnais; he |
| 13 | | married his wife, Melissa, in 2023, and he embraced the role of |
| 14 | | bonus dad to her daughter, Emery; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague began working as a full-time |
| 16 | | temporary highway maintainer for the Illinois Department of |
| 17 | | Transportation (IDOT) in November 2023; he also served such |
| 18 | | organizations as DHL and the Illinois Department of |
| 19 | | Corrections; throughout his professional career, he was noted |
| 20 | | for demonstrating a remarkable work ethic; and |
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague was a passionate music |
| 22 | | enthusiast and dedicated much of his time to his studio, |

| 1 | | managing artists and recording his own music; his work as a |
| 2 | | creative sound engineer earned him credits in various films, |
| 3 | | and he owned a label in partnership with Universal Records; |
| 4 | | and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague was deeply involved in his |
| 6 | | community, coaching youth basketball and sharing his love for |
| 7 | | sports and fishing with those around him; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague, often referred to as a |
| 9 | | "gentle giant", was known for his kindness, humor, and |
| 10 | | generosity; he will be remembered for his infectious energy |
| 11 | | and his passion for family; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague's tragic loss deeply |
| 13 | | saddened the entire team of IDOT, as all IDOT workers in the |
| 14 | | field share a bond as they selflessly strive to keep the public |
| 15 | | safe; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague was preceded in death by his |
| 17 | | great-grandmother, Rosie L. Teague, and his grandmother, |
| 18 | | Waneda Pittman; and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Aaron Pittman-Teague is survived by his wife, |
| 20 | | Melissa; his stepdaughter, Emery; his parents; his |
| 21 | | grandmother, Ruthel Teague; his siblings, Zaida Teague-Calvin, |

| 1 | | Jordan Teague, TyKeisha Washington, Rochaud Alexander Pittman, |
| 2 | | Sydney Doyal, Taylor Doyal, Skyler Pittman, and London |
| 3 | | Pittman; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and |
| 4 | | friends; therefore, be it |
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 7 | | Aaron LaShawn Pittman-Teague and extend our sincere |
| 8 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
| 9 | | him; and be it further |
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 11 | | presented to the family of Aaron Pittman-Teague as an |
| 12 | | expression of our deepest sympathy. |
