| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Mickey Whitesell of |
| 4 | | Elwood on being recognized as the 2025 National Direct Support |
| 5 | | Professional of the Year by the American Network of Community |
| 6 | | Options and Resources (ANCOR); and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, ANCOR is a national advocacy organization with |
| 8 | | over 2,500 members that serves as a leading voice in |
| 9 | | Washington, D.C. on behalf of community-based |
| 10 | | intellectual/developmental disabilities service providers; |
| 11 | | and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Since June 2020, Mickey Whitesell has worked at |
| 13 | | Trinity Services, Inc., a not-for-profit service provider |
| 14 | | originally founded in 1950 and currently based in New Lenox |
| 15 | | that serves and supports more than 5,800 children and adults |
| 16 | | with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health |
| 17 | | needs throughout Illinois; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Mickey Whitesell serves under Trinity Services, |
| 19 | | Inc.'s Community Day Services program, also known as Studio |
| 20 | | 22; through the program, he leads in helping adults with |
| 21 | | developmental disabilities develop healthy relationships in |
| 22 | | the community and engage in unique experiences to advance |
|

| 1 | | their personal support plans; he also educates and advocates |
| 2 | | to the community about disability issues and the direct |
| 3 | | support professional position; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Mickey Whitesell, in being named the 2025 |
| 5 | | National Direct Support Professional of the Year, was selected |
| 6 | | out of over 500 nominations received by ANCOR; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Mickey Whitesell was recognized alongside 53 |
| 8 | | other honorees from all across the country during the annual |
| 9 | | conference, ANCOR Connect, which was held in San Diego, |
| 10 | | California from April 7 through April 9, 2025; therefore, be |
| 11 | | it

| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 13 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 14 | | we congratulate Mickey Whitesell on receiving the prestigious |
| 15 | | recognition of being named the 2025 National Direct Support |
| 16 | | Professional of the Year by the American Network of Community |
| 17 | | Options and Resources (ANCOR), and we thank him for dedicating |
| 18 | | his career to the service of others; and be it further

| 19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 20 | | presented to Mickey Whitesell as an expression of our esteem |
| 21 | | and respect. |
