SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carole Jean Kirwan of Ivesdale, who passed away on January 7, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Carole Kirwan, the daughter of Clarence and Beulah Webb Blacker, was born in Monticello on September 15, 1937; she married Hiram Thomas Kirwan in Monticello on September 25, 1954; and

WHEREAS, Carole Kirwan was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ivesdale, the Altar and Rosary Society, the Women's Club, and the Farm Bureau; she also served as an election judge for Champaign County; and

WHEREAS, Carole Kirwan cherished spending time with her family and took great joy in being a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother; and

WHEREAS, Carole Kirwan was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Thomas E. Kirwan Jr.; her brother, Gerald Blacker; and her sisters, Marilyn Morrow, Norma K. Davis, and Connie Webber; and

WHEREAS, Carole Kirwan is survived by her husband of 70 years, Hiram; her daughters, Cynthia Lawson and Pamela Bailey; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Carole Jean Kirwan and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carole Kirwan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
