| 1 | AN ACT concerning State government. | |||||||||||||||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly: | |||||||||||||||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Department of Natural Resources | |||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | (Conservation) Law of the Civil Administrative Code of | |||||||||||||||||||
| 6 | Illinois is amended by adding Section 805-306 as follows: | |||||||||||||||||||
| 7 | (20 ILCS 805/805-306 new) | |||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | Sec. 805-306. Fee waiver; State authorized veterans' | |||||||||||||||||||
| 9 | organization holding memorial services at State Memorial Site. | |||||||||||||||||||
| 10 | Notwithstanding any other provision of law or rule of the | |||||||||||||||||||
| 11 | Department to the contrary, a State authorized veterans' | |||||||||||||||||||
| 12 | organization seeking to hold a memorial service at a State | |||||||||||||||||||
| 13 | Memorial Site shall not pay a fee and shall not be required to | |||||||||||||||||||
| 14 | obtain liability insurance if the permit to hold such service | |||||||||||||||||||
| 15 | is approved by the Department of Natural Resources. The | |||||||||||||||||||
| 16 | Department of Natural Resources shall be provided a list of | |||||||||||||||||||
| 17 | State authorized veterans' organizations by the Department of | |||||||||||||||||||
| 18 | Veterans' Affairs. In this Section, "State authorized | |||||||||||||||||||
| 19 | veterans' organization" means an organization chartered under | |||||||||||||||||||
| 20 | federal or State law and approved by the Department of | |||||||||||||||||||
| 21 | Veterans' Affairs comprised of members of which substantially | |||||||||||||||||||
| 22 | all are individuals who are veterans or spouses, widows, or | |||||||||||||||||||
| 23 | widowers of veterans, the primary purpose of which is to | |||||||||||||||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | promote the welfare of its members and to provide assistance | ||||||
| 2 | to the general public in such a way as to confer a public | ||||||
| 3 | benefit. | ||||||
