| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Knight's Action Park in |
| 4 | | Springfield on 95 years of providing family-owned service and |
| 5 | | entertainment, a milestone reflecting decades of dedication, |
| 6 | | innovation, and community engagement; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Knight's Action Park's legacy began with George |
| 8 | | W. Knight Sr., a professional golfer whose passion for the |
| 9 | | game and for teaching led to the establishment of his first |
| 10 | | golf driving range in Springfield in the early 1930s, sparking |
| 11 | | what would become a multi-generational family business; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Knight's Action Park began from humble beginnings |
| 13 | | with a golf range and archery facility in the 1950s and |
| 14 | | expanded its vision into miniature golf, batting cages, |
| 15 | | go-karts, and eventually full-scale waterpark attractions, |
| 16 | | always maintaining a commitment to safety, quality, and family |
| 17 | | fun; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Knight's Action Park, through decades of |
| 19 | | innovation, has introduced countless beloved attractions, |
| 20 | | including the Devil Ray slide, Camille's Reef, a surf |
| 21 | | simulator, the Big Wheel, and the Route 66 Twin Drive-In, |
| 22 | | blending nostalgia with modern entertainment for all ages; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, The Knight Family has demonstrated exceptional |
| 2 | | civic leadership and entrepreneurial spirit by continually |
| 3 | | improving the park's facilities, training hundreds of seasonal |
| 4 | | staff and lifeguards, and providing affordable entertainment |
| 5 | | while upholding high standards of guest service and safety; |
| 6 | | and

| 7 | | WHEREAS, Knight's Action Park's longevity and success are |
| 8 | | a testament to its family ownership, community roots, and |
| 9 | | commitment to creating cherished memories for generations of |
| 10 | | Illinois residents and visitors; and

| 11 | | WHEREAS, The contributions of George W. Knight Sr., George |
| 12 | | Jr., Audrey Knight, and now Doug and George Knight represent a |
| 13 | | proud and inspiring legacy of family business in the State of |
| 14 | | Illinois; therefore, be it

| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 16 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
