| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Joan Rosaline Babcock of | ||||||
| 4 | Jacksonville, who passed away on March 29, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Joan Babcock, the daughter of James and Mary | ||||||
| 6 | Donaghy Donnelly, was born in Brooklyn, New York on October | ||||||
| 7 | 20, 1940; she married Gary R. Babcock in New York on February | ||||||
| 8 | 14, 1964; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Joan Babcock served as a certified nursing | ||||||
| 10 | assistant for many years, and she worked at the Barton W. Stone | ||||||
| 11 | Christian Home in Jacksonville; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Joan Babcock was a member of Our Savior Catholic | ||||||
| 13 | Church in Jacksonville; and | ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Joan Babcock enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching | ||||||
| 15 | old Hollywood movies, and competing in trivia nights hosted by | ||||||
| 16 | radio station WLDS; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Joan Babcock was preceded in death by her sister, | ||||||
| 18 | Mary McKinna, and her brothers, Eugene V. Donnelly and James | ||||||
| 19 | J. Donnelly Jr.; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Joan Babcock is survived by her husband of 61 | ||||||
| 2 | years, Gary; her children, Gary (Karen) Babcock and Mary | ||||||
| 3 | Lanning; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters; | ||||||
| 4 | therefore, be it | ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 7 | Joan Rosaline Babcock and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
| 8 | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
| 9 | further | ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 11 | presented to the family of Joan Babcock as an expression of our | ||||||
| 12 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
