| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Dr. Sheila Trikha Khanna M.D., who |
| 4 | | passed away on December 12, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Khanna was born in Thika Kenya to Shyamlal |
| 6 | | Trikha and Bharati Bhardwaj on May 31, 1961; and |
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Khanna was a skilled and generous |
| 8 | | rehabilitation physician, who touched the lives of many; she |
| 9 | | chose her medical specialty out of the desire to treat and |
| 10 | | advocate for patients like her own late mother who battled |
| 11 | | against serious neurodegenerative diseases; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Khanna created a home that served as a safe |
| 13 | | haven, full of warmth, laughter, and love; she had an |
| 14 | | extraordinary way of leaving an indelible mark in many lives, |
| 15 | | and she engaged passionately in all of her convictions, which |
| 16 | | included civic engagement; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Khanna was the heart and soul of her family; |
| 18 | | she had a vibrant, extroverted nature and had the ability to |
| 19 | | make everyone feel special; she was known for her boundless |
| 20 | | love, her grace, her strength, her kindness, and her wisdom; |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Khanna was preceded in death by her husband; |
| 2 | | and |
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Khanna is survived by her daughter, Priyanka; |
| 4 | | her sisters; and many other family and friends; therefore, be |
| 5 | | it |
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 8 | | Dr. Sheila Trikha Khanna M.D. and extend our sincere |
| 9 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
| 10 | | her; and be it further |
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 12 | | presented to the family of Dr. Khanna as an expression of our |
| 13 | | deepest sympathy. |
