| 1 | AN ACT concerning State government. | |||||||||||||||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly: | |||||||||||||||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Department of Natural Resources | |||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | (Conservation) Law of the Civil Administrative Code of | |||||||||||||||||||
| 6 | Illinois is amended by adding Section 805-571 as follows: | |||||||||||||||||||
| 7 | (20 ILCS 805/805-571 new) | |||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | Sec. 805-571. Lyme and other tick-borne disease warning | |||||||||||||||||||
| 9 | signs. The Department of Public Health shall share the results | |||||||||||||||||||
| 10 | of pathogen testing of ticks from State parks with the | |||||||||||||||||||
| 11 | Department annually. The Department shall thereafter obtain, | |||||||||||||||||||
| 12 | install, and maintain signs at all State-managed parks and | |||||||||||||||||||
| 13 | outdoor recreation areas and facilities, including, but not | |||||||||||||||||||
| 14 | limited to, recreational trail entryways, campgrounds, and any | |||||||||||||||||||
| 15 | other location as defined and determined by the Department as | |||||||||||||||||||
| 16 | necessary and reflective of the results of the Department of | |||||||||||||||||||
| 17 | Public Health's tick surveillance and pathogen testing, | |||||||||||||||||||
| 18 | warning individuals that ticks may be found in the area and | |||||||||||||||||||
| 19 | cause Lyme disease or other tick-borne diseases. The | |||||||||||||||||||
| 20 | Department may use models already in use throughout the State | |||||||||||||||||||
| 21 | or in another state or any model the Department determines | |||||||||||||||||||
| 22 | appropriate when determining the design and content for such | |||||||||||||||||||
| 23 | signage. | |||||||||||||||||||

| 1 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
| 2 | becoming law. | ||||||
