SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

25 ILCS 10/25 new
25 ILCS 145/5.10 new

Amends the General Assembly Operations Act. Provides that all witness slips filed in either house of the General Assembly concerning proposed legislation during the General Assembly committee hearing process shall track along with the legislation for which it was filed should such legislation be placed on another bill, by amendment, for purposes of legislative action. Provides that the General Assembly, in consultation with the Legislative Information System, shall provide for such witness slip tracking on the Illinois General Assembly website. Amends the Legislative Information System Act. Provides that the Legislative Information System shall provide for electronic tracking of all witness slips witness slips filed in either house of the General Assembly concerning proposed legislation during the General Assembly committee hearing by which the witness slips shall track along with the legislation for which they were filed should such legislation be placed on another bill, by amendment, for purposes of legislative action.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The General Assembly Operations Act is amended by adding Section 25 as follows:

(25 ILCS 10/25 new)

Sec. 25. Witness slip tracking. Notwithstanding any rule or provision of law to the contrary, all witness slips filed in either house of the General Assembly concerning proposed legislation during the General Assembly committee hearing process shall track along with the legislation for which they were filed should such legislation be placed on another bill, by amendment, for purposes of legislative action. The General Assembly, in consultation with the Legislative Information System, shall provide for such witness slip tracking on the Illinois General Assembly website.

Section 10. The Legislative Information System Act is amended by adding Section 5.10 as follows:

The System shall provide for electronic tracking of all witness slips filed in either house of the General Assembly concerning proposed legislation during the General Assembly committee hearing by which the witness slips shall track along with the legislation for which they were filed should such legislation be placed on another bill, by amendment, for purposes of legislative action.
