| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the Olive-Harvey College | ||||||
| 4 | women's basketball team, the Lady Panthers, on their | ||||||
| 5 | successful 2024-25 season; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Lady Panthers finished the season with a | ||||||
| 7 | record of 33 wins and 2 losses; no other school in the history | ||||||
| 8 | of City Colleges of Chicago, men or women, has ever won over 30 | ||||||
| 9 | games in a season; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, The Lady Panthers won the City Colleges | ||||||
| 11 | Conference Championship, the NJCAA Region 4 Division I | ||||||
| 12 | Championship, and the NJCAA District 13 Division I | ||||||
| 13 | Championship and earned a trip to the NJCAA Division I | ||||||
| 14 | National Tournament as one of the best 24 junior college teams | ||||||
| 15 | in the country; and | ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, The Lady Panthers' success was a team effort but | ||||||
| 17 | would not have been possible without three sophomores, | ||||||
| 18 | including Region 4 Player of the Year and All American | ||||||
| 19 | Candidate Nakia Bardney, All Region 4 and All American | ||||||
| 20 | Candidate Khaniah Gardner, and All Region 4 Cashay Dixon; and | ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, The Lady Panthers are led by NJCAA Region 4 and | ||||||

| 1 | NJCAA District 13 Coach of the Year Coach Jeff Dillard Jr. and | ||||||
| 2 | his coaching staff; and | ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, The Lady Panthers find their support from | ||||||
| 4 | parents, friends, President Kimberly Hollingsworth, Dean | ||||||
| 5 | Michelle Adams, District Director Cyril Nichols, Chancellor | ||||||
| 6 | Juan Salgado, Director Robert Fletcher, Assistant Director | ||||||
| 7 | Jason Straight, and the entire Olive-Harvey College Community; | ||||||
| 8 | therefore, be it | ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 10 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 11 | we congratulate the Olive-Harvey College women's basketball | ||||||
| 12 | team, the Lady Panthers, on their successful 2024-25 season, | ||||||
| 13 | and we wish them many more successful seasons; and be it | ||||||
| 14 | further | ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
| 16 | presented to the Lady Panthers' players and coaches as a | ||||||
| 17 | symbol of our respect and esteem. | ||||||
