| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Lonzo Greenwood on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement from the East St. Louis School | ||||||
| 5 | District #189 Board of Education; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Lonzo Greenwood was elected to the East St. Louis | ||||||
| 7 | School District #189 Board of Education in 1997 and has | ||||||
| 8 | continued his service through April of 2025; he served as | ||||||
| 9 | board president from November of 1997 to May 2, 2017, the | ||||||
| 10 | longest serving board president in consecutive years, and he | ||||||
| 11 | served as the board's vice president from April 30, 2019 to May | ||||||
| 12 | 4, 2021; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Lonzo Greenwood served as the East St. Louis | ||||||
| 14 | Democratic Central Committee Chairman from 2012 to 2018; and | ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Lonzo Greenwood has also held various positions | ||||||
| 16 | in local, county, and state government; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Lonzo Greenwood graduated from St. Louis | ||||||
| 18 | University Law School and is an attorney by trade; therefore, | ||||||
| 19 | be it | ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||

| 1 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 2 | we congratulate Lonzo Greenwood on his retirement from the | ||||||
| 3 | East St. Louis School District #189 Board of Education, and we | ||||||
| 4 | wish him the best in all of his future endeavours; and be it | ||||||
| 5 | further | ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 7 | presented to Lonzo Greenwood as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 8 | esteem. | ||||||
