| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to |
| 3 | | recognize Caterpillar Inc. on the occasion of its 100th |
| 4 | | anniversary, marking a century of innovation, excellence, and |
| 5 | | dedication to quality; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Founded on April 15, 1925, Caterpillar has grown |
| 7 | | to become a prominent name in the construction industry; the |
| 8 | | company is renowned for its extensive range of services and |
| 9 | | products painted in its iconic yellow color, including |
| 10 | | construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas |
| 11 | | engines, industrial gas turbines, and diesel-electric |
| 12 | | locomotives, as well as products that support energy |
| 13 | | transition, including hybrid and electric power solutions; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Caterpillar employs over 100,000 people worldwide |
| 15 | | with significant employment in Illinois, where several major |
| 16 | | facilities are located, directly supporting over 19,000 jobs |
| 17 | | in the State; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Caterpillar's unwavering commitment to its core |
| 19 | | values of integrity, excellence, teamwork, commitment, and |
| 20 | | sustainability has driven the company's operations and |
| 21 | | established a strong corporate culture; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Caterpillar's code of conduct, titled "Values in |
| 2 | | Action", encompasses a range of initiatives designed to uphold |

| 4 | | engagement, reflecting the company's dedication to making a |
| 5 | | positive impact on society; and

| 6 | | WHEREAS, Caterpillar has demonstrated a profound |
| 7 | | commitment to philanthropy, contributing millions of dollars |
| 8 | | annually through the Caterpillar Foundation to support various |
| 9 | | causes, including disaster relief, education, and economic |
| 10 | | development in communities around the world; therefore, be it
|
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize |
| 13 | | Caterpillar Inc. on achieving its 100th anniversary, and we |
| 14 | | commend the company for its remarkable achievements, enduring |
| 15 | | legacy, and continued contributions to the economy, society, |
| 16 | | and the global community; and be it further

| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 18 | | presented to Caterpillar as a symbol of our esteem and |
| 19 | | respect. |
