| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Ruth Ann Pride of Otwell, Indiana, who |
| 4 | | passed away on December 29, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Pride born in Evansville, Indiana to William |
| 6 | | and Mary Risley on December 2, 1940; she graduated from Otwell |
| 7 | | High School and the Deaconess School of Nursing; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Pride worked as a registered nurse at Good |
| 9 | | Samaritan Hospital and Golden Living before moving to home |
| 10 | | health as a visiting nurse; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Pride was a member of Contenders of Faith |
| 12 | | Church and enjoyed birdwatching, photography, genealogy, |
| 13 | | flowers, and spending time with family; her grandchildren were |
| 14 | | her pride and joy; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Pride was preceded in death by her parents; |
| 16 | | her son, David Pride; her brother, Lt. Col. Dan Risley; and her |
| 17 | | sister, Martha Risley; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Pride is survived by her husband of 63 |
| 19 | | years, Jerry Pride; her daughter, Sherry (Scott) Christianson; |
| 20 | | her son, Stephen (Kris) Pride; her daughter, Amy (Chuck) Card; |

| 4 | | great-grandchildren; her brother, John Risley; and her sister, |

| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 8 | | Ruth Ann Pride and extend our sincere condolences to her |
| 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
