HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Christine Lunningham, who passed away on December 12, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Christine Lunningham, the daughter of Cremer and Ludie Lunningham, was born in Lockport on July 28, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Christine Lunningham later relocated to Joliet, where for over 40 years she worked in the retail industry with the department stores Ames and Menards; and

WHEREAS, Christine Lunningham worked as a longtime precinct committeeperson for the Democratic National Committee (DNC); she was involved in campaigns, both locally and nationally, attending many DNC events and volunteering for various functions; and

WHEREAS, Christine Lunningham was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend; and

WHEREAS, Christine Lunningham was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Anne Parker, Dorothy Lunningham, and Signola Drane; and her brothers, Linwood Lunningham and Thomas Christopher Lunningham; and

WHEREAS, Christine Lunningham is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Lunningham; her sister, Ludie Jean (Bennie) Williams; her brother, James Lunningham; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Christine Lunningham and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Christine Lunningham as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
