SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gary Thomas Marschke, Supervisor of DuPage Township, who passed away on March 9, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Gary Marschke was born on January 22, 1946; he served in the U.S. Navy; and

WHEREAS, Gary Marschke, a resident of DuPage Township since 1987, was elected as Supervisor of DuPage Township in April 2021; he served his community with unwavering integrity and compassion, particularly dedicating himself to the seniors at the Levy Center and envisioning a new food pantry to support those in need; and

WHEREAS, Gary Marschke also served the DuPage Township Democratic Organization, where he worked tirelessly to ensure the organization remained committed to providing service for all; and

WHEREAS, Gary Marschke's legacy will live on through his steadfast dedication to service; and

WHEREAS, Gary Marschke was the husband of Lori (Dunn) Marschke for 54 years, the father of Christine (Tom) Boras, the grandfather of five, the brother-in-law of Larry (Meagan) Dunn and Linda (Mike) Blanchard, and the brother and uncle of many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gary Thomas Marschke, Supervisor of DuPage Township, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gary Marschke as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
