| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mary | ||||||
| 4 | Joyce "Mae Joyce" (Faulkner) Anderson-Farris of Peoria, who | ||||||
| 5 | passed away on February 3, 2025; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris was born to Sam and | ||||||
| 7 | Cenilious (Petty) Faulkner in Scotts, Mississippi; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris previously worked at | ||||||
| 9 | the Workforce Development Office before serving as a dedicated | ||||||
| 10 | bus driver for Peoria District 150 for many years, retiring in | ||||||
| 11 | 2006; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris committed to her faith | ||||||
| 13 | at a young age and was a charter member of New Cornerstone | ||||||
| 14 | Baptist Church, where she served as an usher; and | ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris was an avid reader, a | ||||||
| 16 | devoted watcher of soap operas and game shows, and a great | ||||||
| 17 | storyteller; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris served as a pillar of | ||||||
| 19 | strength, wisdom, and boundless love; her life was a testament | ||||||
| 20 | to faith and unwavering kindness; she was a devoted wife, | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her | ||||||
| 2 | family more than anything; and | ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris was preceded in death | ||||||
| 4 | by her parents; her sisters, Hattie B. Mason, Ida Mae Bryant, | ||||||
| 5 | Willie Sam Williams, Corine "Nell" McClain, Augusta "Snook" | ||||||
| 6 | Faulkner, and Curtistine Young; and her brothers, E.B. | ||||||
| 7 | Faulkner, Douglas Faulkner, Grover Faulkner, and Roosevelt | ||||||
| 8 | Faulkner; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris is survived by her | ||||||
| 10 | husband of 39 years, Michael J. Farris; her daughters, Kecia | ||||||
| 11 | (Reverend Demetrius) Randle, Trinka Anderson, and Jalisa | ||||||
| 12 | Anderson; her brother, Wardell "Ward" (Willielean) Faulkner; | ||||||
| 13 | eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her godson, Tyne | ||||||
| 14 | Bryson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended | ||||||
| 15 | family, and friends; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 17 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 18 | we mourn the passing of Mary Joyce "Mae Joyce" (Faulkner) | ||||||
| 19 | Anderson-Farris and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 20 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
| 21 | further | ||||||
| 22 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
