HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mary
4Joyce "Mae Joyce" (Faulkner) Anderson-Farris of Peoria, who
5passed away on February 3, 2025; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris was born to Sam and
7Cenilious (Petty) Faulkner in Scotts, Mississippi; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris previously worked at
9the Workforce Development Office before serving as a dedicated
10bus driver for Peoria District 150 for many years, retiring in
112006; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris committed to her faith
13at a young age and was a charter member of New Cornerstone
14Baptist Church, where she served as an usher; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris was an avid reader, a
16devoted watcher of soap operas and game shows, and a great
17storyteller; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris served as a pillar of
19strength, wisdom, and boundless love; her life was a testament
20to faith and unwavering kindness; she was a devoted wife,

1mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her
2family more than anything; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris was preceded in death
4by her parents; her sisters, Hattie B. Mason, Ida Mae Bryant,
5Willie Sam Williams, Corine "Nell" McClain, Augusta "Snook"
6Faulkner, and Curtistine Young; and her brothers, E.B.
7Faulkner, Douglas Faulkner, Grover Faulkner, and Roosevelt
8Faulkner; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Mae Joyce Anderson-Farris is survived by her
10husband of 39 years, Michael J. Farris; her daughters, Kecia
11(Reverend Demetrius) Randle, Trinka Anderson, and Jalisa
12Anderson; her brother, Wardell "Ward" (Willielean) Faulkner;
13eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her godson, Tyne
14Bryson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended
15family, and friends; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
17HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
18we mourn the passing of Mary Joyce "Mae Joyce" (Faulkner)
19Anderson-Farris and extend our sincere condolences to her
20family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
21further
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
