SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mattie R. Luck of Springfield, who passed away on January 28, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Mattie Luck was born in Springfield to Russel and Mattie Lynn Anders on December 3, 1949; she married Ronnie Luck on November 4, 1988; and

WHEREAS, Mattie Luck was a receptionist at St. John's Hospital for many years; and

WHEREAS, Mattie Luck was a faithful and dedicated member of East Keys Baptist Church in Springfield; in her free time, she enjoyed her favorite hobby and passion of photography; and

WHEREAS, Mattie Luck was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Letha Houston; and her brother, Richard F. Anders; and

WHEREAS, Mattie Luck is survived by her husband, Ronnie; her daughter, Michelle Bartolazzi; her stepdaughter, Debra (Brad) Geuther; her stepson, Ken (Gwen) Luck; her grandchildren, Jade Geuther, Nigel Lizarraga, Garrett Luck, and Jenna Luck; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Joan Nichols; her brother, Russell S. Anders; her granddog, Bailey Joe; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mattie R. Luck and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mattie Luck as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
