HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Chelsea Jamilex Adolphus, who passed away on January 23, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Chelsea Adolphus was born to Paul and Yolanda Adolphus on March 24, 1996; she graduated from Waukegan High School in 2014; and

WHEREAS, Chelsea Adolphus enjoyed being a nanny to seniors, but her career aspiration was to own her own hair salon; and

WHEREAS, Chelsea Adolphus had a passion for dancing and loved to be around her family and friends, brightening the room with her laugh and smile; she also enjoyed cooking; one of the highlights of her life was being baptized by Pastor Marvin Bembry; and

WHEREAS, Chelsea Adolphus was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Almeric and Gregoria Bradley; her aunt, Saritah Bradley; and her uncle, Luis Bradley; and

WHEREAS, Chelsea Adolphus is survived by her parents; her brothers, Paul Adolphus Jr. and Jayden Adolphus; her paternal grandmother, Horinthia Adolphus; her aunts, Eleanor Ramirez, Margaret Gillett, Diane Martinez, Lesbia Avila, and Xiomara Adolphus; her uncles, Hubert Gillett, Albert Bradley, Errol Bradley, and Elvis Ramirez; her nephew, Isaiah Martinez; her niece, Catalaya Adolphus; her cousins, Jarrel, Elvis, Nigel, Jhrae, Ava, Maverick, Mason, and Oaklee Ramirez, Kenard, Kimberly, Kathleen, Kiara, and Aaliyah Gillett, and Levian Rodriguez; and numerous other friends and family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Chelsea Jamilex Adolphus and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Chelsea Adolphus as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
