AN ACT to amend the Public Officer Prohibited Activities
Act by adding Section 1.3.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act
is amended by adding Section 1.3 as follows:
(50 ILCS 105/1.3 new)
Sec. 1.3. Municipal board member; education office. In a
city, village, or incorporated town with fewer than 2,500
inhabitants, an alderman of the city or a member of the board
of trustees of a village or incorporated town, during the
term of office for which he or she is elected, may also hold
the office of member of the board of education, regional
board of school trustees, board of school directors, or board
of school inspectors.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
