    AN ACT concerning children.
 
    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
 
    Section 5. The Intergovernmental Missing Child Recovery
Act of 1984 is amended by adding Section 7.2 as follows:
 
    (325 ILCS 40/7.2 new)
    Sec. 7.2. Report of missing child under 18 years of age;
information.
    (a) At the time of first contact with an individual making
a report of a missing child who is under 18 years of age, the
local law enforcement agency shall provide the individual with
information, the contents of which shall be prepared by the
Office of the Attorney General and posted on its website, that
includes, but is not limited to, the following:
        (1) The 24-hour toll-free telephone numbers for:
            (A) the National Center for Missing and Exploited
        Children; and
            (B) the National Runaway Safeline.
        (2) A description of the services provided to families
    of missing children by the National Center for Missing and
    Exploited Children and the National Runaway Safeline.
    (b) The information required under subsection (a) may be
provided by the local law enforcement agency in a format that
includes, but is not limited to, written materials for
distribution or a posting on the official website of the local
law enforcement agency.
