UNCLAIMED PROP-MONEY ORDERS

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Uniform Disposition of Unclaimed Property Act.
   Provides that any sum payable on a money order that has been
   outstanding for more than 7 (instead of 5) years from the date of its
   issuance is presumed abandoned, unless the owner has within 7 (instead
   of 5) years corresponded with or indicated an interest to the
   appropriate banking or financial organization or business association.
   Effective immediately.
          FISCAL NOTE (Economic and Fiscal Commission)
          HB 207 would not affect the fiscal operations of the Economic
          and Fiscal Commission. It could impact unclaimed property;
          however, the amount would be minimal.
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.
