CRIMINAL-TECH                                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963.  Makes a technical      
   change to the short title Section.                                          
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          725 ILCS 5/100-1                                                     
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          720 ILCS 5/Art. 48 heading new                                       
          720 ILCS 5/48-1 new                                                  
          720 ILCS 5/48-5 new                                                  
          720 ILCS 5/48-10 new                                                 
          720 ILCS 5/48-15 new                                                 
          720 ILCS 5/48-20 new                                                 
          720 ILCS 5/48-25 new                                                 
        Deletes everything. Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Creates the      
   offenses  of  promoting  a criminal rave and aggravated promotion of a      
   criminal rave. Prohibits a  building  from  being  knowingly  used  to      
   promote  the  illegal  possession,  distribution, or use of controlled      
   substances during raves. Provides enhanced penalties if  the  violator      
   knows  that  persons  under  18  years of age are present at the rave.      
   Defines rave as a party-like event at which 25  or  more  persons  pay      
   money  or  other consideration for admission into a building, room, or      
   enclosed area in which the participants dance or  otherwise  socialize      
   against  a  background  of flashing, strobe, or laser lights and music      
   that is electronically produced, reproduced, or transmitted.  Provides      
   for the forfeiture to the State of Illinois all proceeds from the rave      
   and  all  personal  property used to facilitate the rave. Provides for      
   civil damages to a parent or guardian of a minor who attends the rave.
