O'BRIEN. 625 ILCS 5/7-602 from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 7-602 Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a person who fails or refuses to comply with an officer's request to show proof of insurance is guilty of a petty offense and shall be required to pay a fine of $25. Provides that the fine shall be in addition to any fine that may be imposed for operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. JUDICIAL NOTE (Illinois Courts Administrative Office) HB 4292 would neither increase nor decrease the number of judges needed in the State. HOME RULE NOTE (Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs) HB 4292 does not pre-empt home rule authority.
