   725 ILCS 5/115-10.4

Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963. Permits the
admissibility of evidence in a criminal case of a statement made by a
witness that narrates, describes, or explains a statement made by a
defendant of which the witness had personal knowledge. Eliminates the
provision that certain statements of a deceased declarant are
admissible only if the statement was made under oath at a trial,
hearing, or other proceeding. Effective immediately.
FISCAL NOTE (Illinois Courts Administrative Office)
HB 4203 would have no fiscal impact on the judicial branch.
JUDICIAL NOTE (Illinois Courts Administrative Office)
HB 4203 would neither increase nor decrease the number of
          judges needed in the State.
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.

Restores provision that in order for a decedent's prior
statements to be admitted into evidence the statement must have been
made by the declarant under oath at a trial, hearing, or other
   proceeding.
