   20 ILCS 700/3004.5                                                          

        Amends the Technology Advancement and Development Act.   Requires      
   the Department of Commerce and Community Affairs to establish at least      
   one technology enterprise development center (ITEC) in a municipality       
   with a population of 40,000 or less located in a county with a popu-        
   lation of 200,000 or more that is adjacent to the Mississippi River.        
   Provides that when awarding grants to technology enterprise develop-        
   ment centers, the Department shall give special consideration to            
   applicants in counties with a population of 200,000 or more that are        
   adjacent to the Mississippi River.                                          
          FISCAL NOTE (Department of Commerce and Community Affairs)           
          The fiscal impact of HB 2175 on the DCCA to establish an ITEC        
          center in Madison or St. Clair counties is estimated to be           
          between $300,000 and $400,000.
