O'CONNOR-LYONS,EILEEN-LINDNER-MATHIAS-HOWARD, BLACK, SCULLY AND BASSI. (LINK) 720 ILCS 5/24-3.5 Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that a person who commits the offense of unlawful purchase of a firearm by purchasing a firearm with the intent to deliver the firearm to a person prohibited by federal or State law from possessing the firearm or by purchasing the firearm and intentionally providing false information on a U.S. Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms firearm transaction record form shall be sentenced to an additional term of imprisonment of 10 years for each firearm purchased that was: (1) used in a crime that involved a violation of the Cannabis Control Act or the Illinois Controlled Substances Act; (2) used in a crime committed against a law enforcement officer; or (3) used in the commission of a felony.
