BLACK-OSMOND. 55 ILCS 5/5-1121 60 ILCS 1/85-50 new Amends the Township Code. Allows the township board to formally request a county to demolish, repair, or enclose a dangerous and unsafe building or commence other specified proceedings with respect to property located within the township. Provides that if the county declines to take the requested action, the township may apply to the circuit court for an order allowing the township to demolish, repair, or enclose the building or to take other specified action. Provides that the township has a lien for the cost of the demolition, repair, or enclosure. Sets the procedures a township must follow to enforce its lien. Makes conforming changes in the Counties Code. Effective immediately.
