 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, Senator Matthew  O'Shea  was  appointed  to  the
 3    Illinois Senate in 2002; and

 4        WHEREAS,  He  has  faithfully  served  the 22nd District,
 5    which  includes  parts  of   Berkeley,   Berwyn,   Broadview,
 6    Brookfield,  Downers  Grove,  Cicero,  Elmhurst, Forest Park,
 7    Hillside, Hinsdale,  LaGrange  Park,  Lombard,  Lyons,  North
 8    Riverside,    Oak   Brook,   Oakbrook   Terrace,   Riverside,
 9    Westchester, Western Springs, and Westmont; and

10        WHEREAS,  Senator  O'Shea  has  also  been  the   village
11    administrator for the Village of Forest Park since 2000; and

12        WHEREAS,  Prior  to  this,  he worked for his predecessor
13    Senator Thomas J. Walsh and State Representative  Jim  Durkin
14    in  their  district  office  and  prior  to  that worked with
15    Representative Dan Rutherford; and

16        WHEREAS, Senator O'Shea serves on the executive board for
17    the West Cook County Solid Waste Agency, is a member  of  the
18    Illinois  State  Bar  Association,  American Bar Association,
19    Chicago  Bar  Association,  International  Municipal  Lawyers
20    Association,     International     City/County     Management
21    Association, and the Forest Park Main Street; and

22        WHEREAS, Senator O'Shea coordinated  efforts  for  United
23    State Senator John McCain to be placed on the Illinois Ballot
24    for  President  in  2000 and has been a member of the Proviso
25    Township Republican Organization; and

26        WHEREAS, He attended Fenwick High School, earned  a  B.S.
27    in  Criminal  Justice  from  Illinois  State  University, and
28    received a law degree from John Marshall Law School; and

29        WHEREAS, Senator O'Shea grew up in Oak Park and currently
30    resides in Westchester with his wife, Kimberly, and daughter,

 2        RESOLVED BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-SECOND  GENERAL
 3    ASSEMBLY  OF  THE  STATE  OF  ILLINOIS, that we thank Matthew
 4    O'Shea for a job well done and that a suitable copy  of  this
 5    resolution be presented to Senator O'Shea and his family.
