1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Illinois learned with
3 sadness of the death of Minerva Verton of Gillespie on
4 Sunday, October 6, 2002; and
5 WHEREAS, Mrs. Verton was born October 4, 1922 in
6 Gillespie to James and Matilda Meyer Powell; she married
7 Marion A. Verton in 1941 in Warrenton, Missouri; she was a
8 homemaker; and
9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Verton will be loved and missed by many,
10 especially, her husband, Marion A.; her son, Jim (wife,
11 Cindy) Verton; her daughters, Carol (husband, Jim) Sewell,
12 Sally (husband, Mike) Price, and Amy (husband, Bill)
13 Stapleton; her 14 grandchildren; and her five
14 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
15 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
16 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing
17 of Minerva Verton and extend our sincere condolences to her
18 family and friends; and be it further
19 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 presented to the family of Minerva Verton.
