 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Illinois  Senate  wish  to
 3    express  their  sincere condolences to the family and friends
 4    of William "Bill" Harry Kontos, who passed away  on  December
 5    30, 2001; and

 6        WHEREAS,  William  "Bill" Harry Kontos was born on August
 7    21, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois to Harry and Ruby Kontos; and

 8        WHEREAS, Mr. Kontos taught  physical  education,  coached
 9    football,  wrestling, and was the athletic director at Oswego
10    High School for many years; and

11        WHEREAS,  As  a  wrestling  coach,  he  had   a   winning
12    percentage  of  .771, which is the highest winning percentage
13    in school history; and

14        WHEREAS,  Mr.  Kontos  successfully  owned  and  operated
15    Harry's Restaurant at Fox Bend Golf Course  for  many  years;
16    his   fine   food   and  wonderful  personality  were  famous
17    throughout the area; and

18        WHEREAS, Mr. Kontos was a member of St. Athanasios  Greek
19    Orthodox  Church  where  he served on the church board and as
20    past president of the parish Council; he  also  served  as  a
21    member  of  Psi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity at Northern Illinois
22    University; and

23        WHEREAS, The passing of William "Bill" Harry Kontos  will
24    be  deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his
25    wife, Elizabeth  Kontos;  his  sons,  Harry  and  Christopher
26    Kontos;  his step-sons, Brad and Jamie Cook; his mother, Ruby
27    Kontos; his sister, Georgianne  Griparis;  his  brother,  Dr.
28    Michael  (Eva)  Kontos;  and  his  many  nieces, nephews, and
29    friends; therefore, be it

 1    ASSEMBLY  OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
 2    all who knew him, the death of William "Bill" Harry Kontos of
 3    Oswego, Illinois; and be it further

 4        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 5    presented  to  the family of William "Bill" Harry Kontos with
 6    our sincere condolences.
