1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 447
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 447 on page 1,
3 line 5, after "4,", by inserting "8.1,"; and
4 on page 3, after line 23, by inserting the following:
5 "(225 ILCS 25/8.1) (from Ch. 111, par. 2308.1)
6 Sec. 8.1. No licensed dentist shall administer general
7 anesthesia or parenteral conscious sedation without first
8 applying for and obtaining a permit for such purpose from the
9 Department. The Department shall issue such permit only
10 after ascertaining that the applicant possesses the minimum
11 qualifications necessary to protect public safety. A person
12 with a dental degree who administers anesthesia or parenteral
13 conscious sedation in an approved hospital training program
14 under the supervision of either a licensed dentist holding
15 such permit or a physician licensed to practice medicine in
16 all its branches shall not be required to obtain such permit.
