1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to recognize milestone events in the
4 lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Alice Faye
6 Naylor retired from the Chicago Public School System on June
7 25, 2002 after 35 years of service; she had spent 30 of those
8 years at Wendell E. Green School in District 299; and
9 WHEREAS, Alice Faye Naylor was born on September 25, 1940
10 in Crowville, Louisiana; she was raised in a Christian home
11 with loving parents who taught her to be persistent and
12 diligent and to always persevere; and
13 WHEREAS, Alice Faye Naylor graduated from Grambling State
14 University in 1965; after teaching in Louisiana for two
15 years, she relocated to Chicago to teach for the Chicago
16 Public School System; and
17 WHEREAS, Through the years, Alice Faye Naylor has
18 received countless awards, recognitions, and praise for her
19 outstanding and unique teaching abilities; she is now
20 recognized as one of the most highly regarded math
21 instructors in Wendell E. Green School history; and
22 WHEREAS, On August 23, 2002, the family of Alice Faye
23 Naylor is giving her a surprise retirement party in honor of
24 her 35-year career shaping and molding the lives of her many
25 students in the Chicago Public School System; therefore, be
26 it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
28 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
29 we congratulate Alice Faye Naylor on her retirement after a
30 stellar 35-year career as an educator in the Chicago Public
31 School System and we wish her well in all of her future

1 endeavors; and be it further
2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to Alice Faye Naylor as an expression of our
4 esteem.
