1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to recognize milestone events in the
4 lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that John W. "Jack"
6 Myatt has retired from his duties as Chief Executive Officer
7 of the Decatur Association of Realtors after 19 years of
8 dedicated service; and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Myatt has served as the Chief Executive
10 Officer of the Decatur Association of Realtors from 1982
11 through 2001; he also has served as the Executive Vice
12 President of Metro Decatur Home Builders Association since
13 January 1986; he previously worked for Armour & Co. in Peoria
14 from 1954 to 1956 and from 1958 to 1964; from 1964 to 1981
15 Mr. Myatt worked in real estate sales and as a building
16 consultant, loan closing officer, office manager, and sales
17 manager; in addition, he served as Executive Vice President
18 of Alton-Wood River Board of Realtors from 1981 through 1982;
19 and
20 WHEREAS, My. Myatt served as President of the Peoria
21 Association of Realtors from 1979 through 1980, as a member
22 of the Board of Directors and a guest lecturer of Real Estate
23 at Illinois Central College, and as a member of the Decatur
24 City Planning Commission; he also has a listing in the "Who's
25 Who in Real Estate in America" and is a legislative contact
26 for local State Senators and Representatives; and
27 WHEREAS, Jack Myatt was the chairman of the Illinois
28 Association of Realtors' Executive Officers Committee, a
29 certified Professional Standards Procedures Administrator,
30 and has completed a variety of programs for the National
31 Association of Realtors; and

1 WHEREAS, Jack Myatt is the proud father of three children
2 and the grandfather of six grandchildren; in his spare time
3 he enjoys playing golf; and
4 WHEREAS, On April 9, 2002, Jack Myatt will be honored for
5 his many years of service to the Realtor Organization;
6 therefore, be it
7 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9 we congratulate John W. "Jack" Myatt on his retirement after
10 19 years of service as the Chief Executive Officer of the
11 Decatur Association of Realtors, and we wish him well in all
12 of his future endeavors; and be it further
13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to John W. "Jack" Myatt as an expression of our
15 esteem.
