1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to
4 the family and friends of Betty Harnedy, who passed away on
5 April 18, 2001; and
6 WHEREAS, Mrs. Harnedy served as Administrative Assistant
7 to the Principal for 34 years at Mt. Carmel High School in
8 Chicago; during her tenure, she served seven different
9 principals and countless numbers of students at Mt. Carmel
10 High School; and
11 WHEREAS, Betty Harnedy was a great teacher and a good
12 friend to everyone she encountered; she was truly the "Flower
13 of Carmel"; and
14 WHEREAS, The passing of Betty Harnedy will be deeply felt
15 by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband,
16 William "Red" Harnedy; her children, Bill, Maureen, Jack, and
17 Kevin; and her 10 grandchildren; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20 we mourn, along with all who knew her, the death of Betty
21 Harnedy of Chicago, Illinois; and be it further
22 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23 presented to the family of Betty Harnedy with our sincere
24 condolences.
