1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to acknowledge the
4 accomplishments of Illinois natives; and
5 WHEREAS, Andy J. Kindle was born and raised in Central
6 City; he attended Central City Grade School, Centralia High
7 School, and Centralia Junior College; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Kindle is a television sports director and
9 has received sixteen Emmy awards for his work, and is
10 considered a leader in his field; he is most known for his
11 work covering the Olympic Games and NFL Football; and
12 WHEREAS, A few years ago, Andy took time from a very busy
13 schedule to return to his hometown to organize and direct a
14 celebration of ninety years of basketball at Centralia High
15 School, the winningest high school team in the nation; and
16 WHEREAS, The Village of Central City is very proud of Mr.
17 Kindle's accomplishments and wishes to place signs at the
18 village limits recognizing those achievements; therefore, be
19 it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we urge the Illinois Department of Transportation to approve
23 the placement of signs honoring Andy J. Kindle on Route 51
24 north and south and Green Street Road in the Village of
25 Central City; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to the Illinois Department of Transportation and to
28 Andy J. Kindle.
