1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mark W.
6 Gregory is retiring from his duties as Superintendent of
7 Central A & M Community Unit District 21; and
8 WHEREAS, Mark W. Gregory was born on October 14, 1937 in
9 Moweaqua, Illinois to Lloyd and Helen Gregory; and
10 WHEREAS, Mark W. Gregory is a 1955 graduate of Moweaqua
11 High School, where he served as Valedictorian of his class;
12 he earned his bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois
13 University in 1959 and earned his master's degree from the
14 University of Colorado in 1963; he received a certificate of
15 Advanced Study from the University of Illinois in 1981; and
16 WHEREAS, Mark W. Gregory began his 42-year teaching
17 career and 29-year career as a Superintendent in 1959 at
18 Moweaqua Community Unit District 6A as an Instrumental Music
19 teacher for grades five through twelve; on 1970, he was named
20 as Principal of Moweaqua Elementary School; in 1972 he was
21 named Superintendent of Moweaqua Community Unit District 6A;
22 and in 1992 he was named Superintendent of Central A & M
23 Community Unit District 21; and
24 WHEREAS, In addition to his administrative duties, Mark
25 W. Gregory is a member of First Baptist Church in Moweaqua,
26 Illinois where he serves as a moderator, as Deacon, youth
27 sponsor, and choir director; in addition, he served as
28 treasurer and past president of the Illinois Association of
29 School Administrators; as a member of the Illinois
30 Association of School Business Officials, as President-Elect
31 of the Moweaqua Rotary Club, as a member of the Assumption

1 Optimist Club, as a member of Phi Delta Kappa and Kappa Delta
2 Pi, and as past president and member of the Board of Managers
3 of the American Baptist Churches of the Great Rivers Region;
4 and
5 WHEREAS, Mark W. Gregory is supported by his loving and
6 very proud family which includes his wife, Von Arlene
7 Gregory, and his children, Jason, Nathan, and Caleb;
8 therefore, be it
9 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11 we congratulate Mark W. Gregory on his retirement as
12 Superintendent of Central A & M Community Unit District 21
13 and we wish him well in all of his future endeavors; and be
14 it further
15 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16 presented to Mark W. Gregory as an expression of our esteem.
