1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Margaret C.
6 Garwood is retiring from a dedicated 24-year teaching career
7 this year; and
8 WHEREAS, Margaret Garwood has taught mathematics at Oak
9 Grove School in Green Oaks, Illinois for the past 18 years;
10 and
11 WHEREAS, During the past five years, Margaret Garwood
12 organized a quilt project for the students at Oak Grove
13 School; after the quilts are completed and raffled off, the
14 proceeds go to a Waukegan, Illinois soup kitchen; to date,
15 she has helped raise over $24,000 in contributions; and
16 WHEREAS, Margaret Garwood's selfless contributions have
17 earned her the respect by both her former and current
18 students as well as her colleagues and friends; therefore, be
19 it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we congratulate Margaret C. Garwood on her retirement from a
23 dedicated teaching career of 24 years; and we wish her well
24 in all of her future endeavors; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to Margaret C. Garwood as an expression of our
27 esteem.
