1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The Grand United Order of Odd Fellows, Area
6 Three is honoring Mrs. Mattie Stinson at their annual meeting
7 on March 24, 2001 for her thirty years of community service
8 to the Household of Ruth Grand United Order of Odd Fellows;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, Mrs. Stinson was a founding member of the
11 Mothers' Board at Mt. Olive Baptist Church; she was a fellow
12 at Progressive Community Center the People's Church, where
13 she established another branch of the Mothers' Board Group;
14 she was active in several clubs and ministries at Progressive
15 including the Friendly Helpers and Prayer Band; she was a
16 volunteer chef for Matthew House Supportive for the Homeless
17 from 1993 until 1995, and continues to volunteer two to three
18 times a week; and
19 WHEREAS, Mrs. Stinson served as a volunteer for the 3rd
20 Ward Democratic Party Organization as a community organizer
21 and as a judge for the Democratic Board of Elections; and
22 WHEREAS, In January of 1997, the Odd Fellows Committee of
23 Management presented Mrs. Stinson with the distinctive honor
24 of Past Most Worthy Grand Superior of the Grand Household of
25 Ruth, Grand United Order of Odd Fellows in America and
26 Jurisdiction; she received this honor for serving more than
27 twenty years as a member of the Grand Household of Ruth, in
28 the office of Worthy Grand Prelate; and
29 WHEREAS, Along with being honored for her outstanding
30 dedication to the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows, Mrs.
31 Stinson will also celebrate the 85th anniversary of her birth

1 of March 30, 2001; therefore, be it
2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
3 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4 we honor Mrs. Mattie Stinson for her dedicated community
5 service to the Household of Ruth Grand United Order of Odd
6 Fellows for past thirty years; and be it further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to Mrs. Mattie Stinson as an expression of our
9 esteem.
