1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor businesses in the State
4 of Illinois that have been the recipient of accolades from
5 their peers; and
6 WHEREAS, Kelmscott Press, Inc. in Aurora, Illinois,
7 recently was named a "Best of the Best" workplace by Graphic
8 Arts Monthly magazine; and
9 WHEREAS, This award is given to companies identified as
10 "superior workplaces for their programs in work environment
11 and culture, training and development opportunities,
12 personal/work-life balance, employee financial security,
13 employee recognition and rewards, and health and well-being";
14 and
15 WHEREAS, In July of 1938, Kelmscott Press was
16 incorporated under the laws of the State of Illinois as the
17 Kelmscott Corporation, with John M. Strotz as president; Mrs.
18 Strotz succeeded her husband as president after his death,
19 with W.I. Reeves as vice president and general manager; in
20 1963 the company was incorporated as Kelmscott Press, Inc.,
21 with W.I. Reeves elected as president, Thomas Reeves as vice
22 president, and Loren Strotz as secretary-treasurer; in 1975
23 the Strotz interest in the company was purchased from the
24 Strotz estate and W.I. Reeves was elected chairman of the
25 Board, with Thomas W. Reeves as president; in 1985 Thomas and
26 Roberta Reeves bought the interest in the business owned by
27 W.I. Reeves to become the current owners of Kelmscott Press,
28 Inc.; therefore, be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
30 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
31 we congratulate Kelmscott Press, Inc. on being named a "Best
32 of the Best" workplace by Graphic Arts Monthly magazine; and

2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to Thomas Reeves.
