1 AN ACT in relation to public utilities.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding
5 Section 13-408 as follows:
6 (220 ILCS 5/13-408 new)
7 (Section scheduled to be repealed on July 1, 2005)
8 Sec. 13-408. Limitation on area code implementation. No
9 new area code shall be implemented until 90% of the available
10 telephone numbers in the existing area code are assigned to
11 consumers.
12 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
13 becoming law.
