1 AN ACT relating to education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing
5 Section 14-3.03 as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/14-3.03) (from Ch. 122, par. 14-3.03)
7 Sec. 14-3.03. State plan. The State plan to ensure
8 insure free appropriate public education for children with
9 disabilities submitted to the United States Secretary of
10 Education under Section 613 of the federal Education of the
11 Handicapped Act, Title 20 United States Code, Section 1413
12 must be approved by the State Board of Education prior to its
13 submission. Prior to the approval of such plan, the State
14 Board of Education shall publish the proposed plan in the
15 Illinois Register, hold hearings on the plan and elicit
16 public comment. Notice of such hearings shall be made in the
17 manner provided in the Illinois Administrative Procedure Act.
