1 AN ACT concerning education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended
5 by adding Section 2-25 as follows:
6 (110 ILCS 805/2-25 new)
7 Sec. 2-25. Trades training grant program. The State
8 Board shall establish and administer a trades training grant
9 program. Under this grant program, the State Board shall
10 provide grants to rural communities to bring together
11 community leaders to develop a trades training program for
12 their community. The trades training program shall be
13 locally administered, with involvement from local economic
14 development professionals, community college and educational
15 leaders, community and business leaders, housing
16 representatives, State agency representatives, local labor
17 union leaders, and other community representatives. The
18 State Board may adopt any rules necessary to carry out its
19 responsibilities under this Section.
