1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2807
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 2807 as follows:
3 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the
4 following:
5 "Section 5. The Court of Claims Act is amended by
6 changing Section 24 as follows:
7 (705 ILCS 505/24) (from Ch. 37, par. 439.24)
8 Sec. 24. Payment of awards.
9 (1) From funds appropriated by the General Assembly for
10 the purposes of this Section the Court may direct immediate
11 payment of:
12 (a) All claims arising solely as a result of the
13 lapsing of an appropriation out of which the obligation
14 could have been paid.
15 (b) All claims pursuant to the "Law Enforcement
16 Officers and Firemen Compensation Act", approved
17 September 30, 1969, as amended.
18 (c) All claims pursuant to the "Illinois National
19 Guardsman's and Naval Militiaman's Compensation Act",
20 approved August 12, 1971, as amended.
21 (d) All claims pursuant to the "Crime Victims

1 Compensation Act", approved August 23, 1973, as amended.
2 (e) All other claims wherein the amount of the
3 award of the Court is less than $5,000.
4 (2) The court may, from funds specifically appropriated
5 from the General Revenue Fund for this purpose, direct the
6 payment of awards solely as a result of the lapsing of an
7 appropriation originally made from any fund held by the State
8 Treasurer. For any such award paid from the General Revenue
9 Fund, the court shall thereafter seek an appropriation from
10 the fund from which the liability originally accrued in
11 reimbursement of the General Revenue Fund.

13 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14 becoming law.".
