Senate Sponsors: O'MALLEY. Short description: INS MASTECTOMY/PROTHESIS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Insurance Code and the Health Maintenance Organization Act. Provides that coverage for mastectomies shall include reconstruction of the breast upon which the mastectomy has been performed, surgery and reconstruction of the other breast to produce a symmetrical appearance, and protheses and treatment for physical complications at all stages of mastectomy, including lymphedemas. Effective immediately.
