Senate Sponsors: CLAYBORNE. Short description: PEN CD-ART 4-PEN FUND-ATTORNEY Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Downstate Firefighters Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that, in a township, village, or incorporated town, if the village or town attorney declines in writing to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Firefighters' Pension Fund, the village or town attorney's position on the board shall be filled by a person appointed by the village or town president with the advice and consent of the village or town board of trustees. PENSION NOTE (Pension Laws Commission) SB 1873 would not increase the accrued liability or annual costs of any downstate police or firefighter pension fund.
