Short description: 
MEDCAID-HLTH COVERAGE OUTREACH                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the "administration" Article of the  Illinois  Public  Aid      
   Code.    Requires  the  Department of Public Aid to establish a 3-year      
   health coverage outreach pilot program  in  the  Chicago  metropolitan      
   area.   Provides  that  the  purpose  of the pilot program is to refer      
   persons for enrollment in various public  and  private  health-related      
   programs, such as KidCare and private health insurance, for which they      
   are  eligible  but  not  enrolled. Requires the Department to contract      
   with a private not-for-profit  corporation  to  administer  the  pilot      
   program.   Terminates  the  pilot program on June 30, 2003.  Effective      
   July 1, 2000.
