House Sponsors: WIRSING-KLINGLER-HOFFMAN-LOPEZ-ACEVEDO Short description: VEH CD-DUI-$100 FINE-POLICE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to provide that a person who is found guilty of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs shall be fined an additional $100, with the money being distributed to the law enforcement agency that made the arrest. Provides that any such moneys received by a law enforcement agency shall be used to purchase law enforcement equipment that will assist in the prevention of alcohol related criminal violence throughout the State. Effective immediately.
